New Galaxy Ring Competitor Offers Nearly 200-Day Battery Life

Black Shark's new ring is great – if you can get one.

On the hunt for an economical smart ring loaded with features? Introducing Black Shark’s newest release, now available for under $100. This stylish ring packs a host of health-tracking sensors comparable to those found in the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Ring.

Featuring a customizable click gesture for app access and an alert light, the Black Shark smart ring offers added convenience. Like AirPods, it includes a charging case extending battery life to approximately 180 days, eliminating the need for frequent charging. However, sans the case, its internal battery is smaller compared to certain competitors.

Nevertheless, with its slim 2.2mm profile and a waterproof rating of 5ATM, the Black Shark smart ring could seamlessly integrate into your lifestyle if it becomes available in other countries at a comparable price point.

When will it be available elsewhere?

Frequent charging of the smart ring in

a case akin to earbuds is an unconventional choice, unlike anything we’ve encountered before in the realm of smart rings. Given that smart rings are designed for continuous wear, it piques our curiosity to observe its endurance. Will it last a day? Two days?

While Black Shark might not be a household name, its parent company Xiaomi certainly is. However, the brand has faced challenges with international launches, notably encountering certification procedures in the US for its phones in 2016. This was followed by a dispute with the US government during the Trump presidency, adding to its rocky history outside of China.
